Janaury 2008

We returned from California exhausted, got a quick nap(that's what we called sleeping that night) and woke up bright and early 4a.m. for work on Monday.

While preparing breakfast for all my little friends at KinderCare, I dropped a #10 can right on my big toe. This is not a good idea. I really should have taken a picture of it, but it hurt so bad I didn't think of it! By Monday night it was completely purple and swollen...not cute at all! It's just now loosing some of the color, but for a while there it was vivid.

Later that afternoon the State Licensing specialist arrived for her annual 5 hour visit, looking around checking files and looking for violations (no stress there!)

Tuesday brought us a record wind storm. It started blowing early in the morning and continued through the day. It was probably sustained at about 60 mph. Two interesting things that happened that day is that:

1. The wind "sucked" all the wood chips off of my two playgrounds,( to the tune of $5,000 for replacement chips!)

2. A "mountain" of tumbleweeds landed in one of the playgrounds as well. The mountain word was coined by the landscaping company that I had to call to do the cleanup....unbelievable!

Then the Fire Marshall came for his annual visit. (licensing then fire....oh my!)

Can we just have everything happen in the first two days of the week?

I needed New Years Day just for recovery!

Happy Birthday my little Sassy Girl!
