I left for California last Thurday. The flight out of Colorado Springs was cancelled due to weather, so I (at a very high rate of speed) drove to Denver and barely caught the plane! It was uneventful after that accept for being later (11:30 p.m) getting to Sacramento.
Mark, Nancy and Jacob met me at the airport with special treats and an ice cold drink. After a short drive to their house, they treated me as a special guest in the "butterfly room". I can't begin to tell you about the restful night sleep I had while the gentle delta (breeze that blows off the pacific ocean right up the American River) blew in the window and lulled me to sleep.
I woke up in the morning with a headache. I got the ever handy cold wash cloth and attempted to soothe myself. My very sweet brother came in to check on me at about 4 a.m. He immediately went downstairs and got the even better than the cold wash cloth standby, frozen bag of peas, laid next to me, held it on my head and rubbed my head and hand until I went back to sleep.....can anyone belive this?
We had a great visit to say the least which included special time with Mom and Dad, seeing my aunt and uncle after years of separation, fabulous food, and entertainment constantly by my newphew Jacob.
Nancy is a saint and if we lived closer to each other I would want her for my best friend! Lucky for me she will always be my sister no matter how far away we live from each other, and sisers are even better! She is kind and sweet and always looking for ways to help and treat me special. I love her dearly.
