After my first month at Kindercare I find myself still in search of two teachers. My current teachers think that supervising children means talking to another teacher while the two year olds bite, kick and scratch each other? What? No.
Or on a three hour Saturday overtime...they take out a bag of trash.
Me: You did what in three hours? Take out the trash? What else? Why are you crying? Stop crying please. I'm just asking you to account for your three hours.
Them: Crying.. I don't like the way you talk to me.
Me: Ok. I'd just you to tell me what you did in three hours.
Them: I needed your help.
Me: I was right in the hallway.
Them: I told you I couldn't do it without help when I got here, I took out the trash. I'm glad to help you out.
Me: Your helping me out? This is your job. Your doing your job.
Them: Crying. What do you want from me?
Me: Why not just go home, call it a day, and think about why it takes three hours to take out trash and then let me know if you think there are other ways you could have used your time.
Them: You don't appreciate me.
Me: Ok, I appreciate your taking out the trash, thank you.
Sigh, that's why I'm looking for new teachers....always.
On a brighter note:
We love Colorado Springs. Art has gone all week without filling up the truck with gasoline.(this used to be a daily happening) The beautiful fall colors are starting to show and we've mowed our grass 4 times since we've lived here. Pictures are hung, belongings are put away and we are ready for a nice fire in the fireplace (gas, not wood) and a good book.
As always we love talking to the grandkids and reading stories on the webcam, we miss them in person and their parents!
