Sammy, Sassy and Sun

When Sam was born on April 23, 2008 my heart went from crazy excited to crazy with concern. Having a grand baby in an intensive care unit for 7 days was not on my list of things "I need to do before I die" . It felt like I would never get to Indiana once I got on the plane.

While Sammy battled pneumonia, and his parents drove back and forth from the hospital, Savanna and I planted strawberries, chives, flowers and fed the ducks. We had a most wonderful visit with each other.

When Sam finally made it to his birthday party complete with balloons and cupcakes, we were all delighted and Savanna really enjoyed eating Sammy's cupcakes for him.

We decorated the play room with green and white gingham curtains, a big green rug and shelves that hopefully Daddy will hang on the wall some day!

The week went by to fast and I can't wait to play on the swings again with my super sweet grandchildren!
